Children Help in the Horton Kirby Appeal.
Having read about the discovery of the Horton Kirby villa in the National Press and hearing that there was an appeal for money, a group of 7-8 year olds at Wickham Common Primary School who knew Mrs Philp decided to help. Under the guidance of their teacher, Mrs Micklewright, they arranged a "Bring and Buy" sale which was held for the rest of the school. With a great deal of hard work they raised £12.53½p and then settled down to write compositions about the event. We take great pleasure in being able to reproduce a few extracts of these here.
