So -- You Want to be a (YOUNG) Archaeologist?

A young Archaeologist Club already exists under the auspices of the Council for British Archaeology. Open days and events are organised, often associated with National Archaeology Days; however these events are not always convenient for those that live in the Southeast corner of England.

We would like to know what level of interest there is amongst young people in Kent who wish to get involved in archaeology.

Sadly, since the County Council removed the funding, the Council for Kentish Archaeology has been unable to allocate adequate resources to up-and-coming archaeologists, but now Committee Member Dana Adler has offered to act as information co-ordinator to assess whether there are sufficient expressions of interest to form a Kent Junior Archaeologists Group.

Dana would also like to hear from Groups around the Country who would be prepared to arrange Open days where tuition and 'hands-on' experience could be gained.

If you are a young person, in the age range 12 to 18, or the co-ordinator of a local group, please write for more information to:

Dana Adler (Reference KJAG),
5 Eldon Street,
Chatham,
Kent ME4 4NB.
